This is a stunningly attractive kola nut container from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, west africa. Ex UK collection. Exquisite engraved patterning throughout, depicting a lizard at its centre, with two human heads on each end. This is a unique example. The overall shape is reminiscent of the classic Yoruba almond eye. The patina is softened with age. The patina is well used, with a lovely satin sheen. Made of a chocolatey coloured wood. In good condition with wear. We guarantee this item has been tribally used. Width approx 25 cm
