This is an attractive and large silver pectoral disc mas bulan. Named after the moon. Thought to symbolise the moon or celestial bodies.

The centre is adorned with a picture of a bull with large curved horns.  A prized part of a warrior's costume in most of Eastern Indonesia.  In the Atoni regions, new mothers emerging from post-childbirth seclusion are adorned in a male warrior's costume, symbolising their strength and life-giving powers.  Originally used as trophies if war, head hunting or hunting, later worn as a symbol of prestige during ceremonies.  In good condition.
