SOLD NB. A PRETTY PECTORAL DISC FROM NIAS PEOPLE, INDONESIA ( No 1894)

A pectoral disc from the Nias people of Indonesia.  This type of jewellery was originally a trophy of war, head hunting or hunting.  Its form symbolises the moon or celestial bodies. Featuring human form embossed motfs, apparently reaching up the skies.  Made of brass.  In good condition. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used.  Custom Mounted.  Height approx 24cm
