This is a striking, rare and very large divination box from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, West Africa. Has fine form which is highly engraved with geometric patterns around the perimeter. Has a divination board which is the lid of the box The god of randomness is at the centre of the divination board. There are interesting cross shaped compartments within the box. The patina is well developed with a subtle sheen In good condition, with wea, particularly around the edge. width approx 70cm
