This is a striking and large, finely woven Tutsi basket with lid, from Rwanda. Simple form with contrasting shaped designs Features a deeply used patina which has darkened with age.  Has indigenous repairs at the high points.  In good condition., with wear, particularly at the base and rim which has woven repairs.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 50cm
