A DECORATED 19THC AKAN GOLD MEASURING SCALE PAN FROM BAULE TRIBE IVORY COAST W.AFRICA ( No 2088)

This is a beautifully patinated, gold measuring scale pan from the Akan region of west Africa.  would have been hung with string with another pan on the other side in order to weight gold.  The patina of the metal has darkened with age. Has some faint embossed patterns.  In good condition with wear. Mounted on  metal base.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. In good width approx 5cm
