A WOVEN FIBRE BASKET WITH RED DESIGN FROM TUTSI TRIBE RWANDA( No 2177)

This is an intricately woven Tutsi basket from Rwanda, East Africa . Simple coil construction with a graphic woven zig zag design in contrasting red dyed grass.  Features a nicely used patina.  In good condition., with wear and some traditional indigenous repairs.  This is a tray basket.  Has been photographed upright but does not stand unassisted.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. width approx 30cm
